A brief introduction to Object Entry

This session will offer a basic introduction to the Spectrum Object entry procedure.

It will cover:

  • How the procedure relates to Accreditation and policy.
  • The procedure’s definition and scope, including key concepts and terms.
  • The minimum requirements, with examples of how to meet them.
  • Where to find the suggested procedure and briefly what it can be used for (note: this session will not cover the content of the suggested procedure).
  • Signposting to further information.

By the end of the session, attendees will:

  • Understand how Object entry relates to Accreditation and policy.
  • Understand how to meet the Spectrum standard for Object entry via the minimum requirements.
  • Know where to find more information and guidance.

Format – Presentation style with a brief Q&A section at the end.

Before the session:

  • Take a look at your organisation’s written procedure for Object entry, in your organisation’s documentation procedures manual, if available.

Places are available for museums in the North of England, and priority will be given to accredited museums or those working towards accreditation.
