Marketing and Communications Network

Connecting museum communications and marketers across the North

The Marketing Network brings together museum professionals working in marketing, communications, and audience development. In response to requests from the local sector the network aims to offer a supportive space to share ideas, explore common challenges, and build confidence in promoting your organisation.

Whether you are a dedicated marketing officer or juggling marketing and communications alongside other responsibilities, the network provides practical insight and peer support to help you strengthen your approach.

What to expect

  • A mix of in person and online sessions exploring core marketing themes.
  • Peer discussion and knowledge exchange, with space to share your experiences.
  • Practical tools and techniques you can put into action straight away.
  • A welcoming community of colleagues facing similar challenges.

Who is it for?

  • Museum staff and volunteers involved in marketing, communications, or audience engagement.
  • People who are new to marketing as well as experienced practitioners

The network will be shaped by participants, ensuring sessions respond to real needs and emerging sector priorities.

The Marketing Network is designed to be practical, collaborative, and grounded in sector realities. Recognising the pressures of limited time and resources, the sessions focus on achievable, impactful approaches that can be applied in museums of all sizes.

You will gain:

  • New ideas and tools you can use straight away.
  • Greater confidence in your role
  • A supportive network of peers that continues beyond the sessions.
