Bespoke Support

In liaison with your Museum Development Adviser you may have identified that your museum would benefit from in depth support from our team. You can request more detailed mentoring, coaching or consultancy through a formal support request. This gives you the opportunity to describe the issue or problem you are looking to resolve.

Any request for support must be made after a discussion with your Museum Development Adviser.

This service is normally limited to museums that are deemed a ‘priority’ for MD North support by Arts Council England. This means Accredited Museums that are not sponsored by DCMS or a National Portfolio Organisation (non-lead members of a NPO partnership are eligible). Museums operated by National Trust or English Heritage are not normally eligible for this support. If you are unsure about your status, please ask your MDA.

Our bespoke involves several days of time by a member of the MDN team, or support from a consultant commissioned by us. In some cases we might provide your museum with a grant. Our experience is that this support would normally cost your museum £2-3,000 based on current market rates. Your team would be expected to invest the same if not more time into the project or process.
