Inventory will be a key feature of the revised Accreditation Standard, due to be published later in 2026.
The inventory procedure supports making sure you have the basic information to be accountable for the objects in the museum’s care, and tackling the backlog if not.
This session will explore the potential steps and considerations involved when undertaking an inventory project, using the Spectrum 5.1 Inventory procedure as a framework.
The workshop will also cover the ongoing support available to museums for their inventory work through Collections Trust’s Banish the Backlog programme.
