Roots & Branches: Action In Practice sessions

As part of the Roots & Branches Programme, the Action In Practice sessions aim to connect museum people, and the organisations they represent, across England to develop and build on their carbon reduction strategies and approaches to taking climate action.
This online programme, using Museum Development Programme funding from Arts Council England, is a chance to hear from guest speakers about particular areas of environmental practice in the sector as well as giving time for participants to share experiences of implementing climate action around various areas of work.
By pooling our collective expertise and resources, we can save ourselves time and money, and tackle the climate emergency more effectively together.
The programme with be managed and delivered by Museum Development North on behalf of Museum Development England. The sessions will be facilitated by Catherine Mailhac, a Carbon Literate Freelancer, who is working with us to deliver the Action In Practice sessions.
What do the sessions involve?
At these thematic workshops, we’ll be looking at how we can encourage positive conversations which lead to action within in our own organisations, with external partners, and with our audiences. There will be lightning talks from guest speakers, and time to connect with others tackling similar issues. Recorded talks and session resources will be shared after each event.
