Carbon Literacy for Museums: Trainer Support Session

Are you keen to become a Carbon Literacy trainer but not quite sure where to start? These sessions are designed to support people to feel confident to roll out Carbon Literacy training in their museums and networks with the Carbon Literacy for Museums Toolkit.

Who are the sessions aimed at?
These sessions are for people who work in, with, or for museums in England who are interested in delivering Carbon Literacy training. We advise that, where possible, two people from your organisation attend the course. Attendees should already be certified as Carbon Literate.
Priority for places will be for Accredited Museums and those Working Towards Accreditation in England that are not DCMS sponsored National museums or ACE funded National Portfolio Organisations.

Who delivers the session?
The session is delivered by experienced Carbon Literacy Trainer Ali Criddle, Museum Development Advisor: Environmental Responsibility, Museum Development North. Museum Development North are a Carbon Literacy Training Organisation since and have enabled over 3,000 people to achieve Carbon Literacy certification. This session is delivered on behalf of Museum Development England.

What does the session involve?
This two-hour session, which repeats throughout the year, aims to build confidence amongst prospective and established facilitators, and support the development and delivery of training in your organisation or network.

Sessions will be delivered via an online platform and includes presentations, collaborative working exercises, group discussion, and a short break. A computer or tablet is recommended.

You will be introduced to the Carbon Literacy for Museums Toolkit, learning aims, course content, planning and delivery mechanisms, as well as trainer scenarios and opportunity for questions.

Access to the Carbon Literacy for Museums Toolkit is enabled via licensing agreement with the Carbon Literacy Project, and their dedicated Culture team will support you with this process.

Trainer Support Sessions are recognised by the Carbon Literacy Project as meeting the equivalent standard as Delivering Successful Carbon Literacy with bespoke, tailored insights for the museums and cultural sector. Completion of a Trainer Support Session will unlock your pathway to Carbon Literacy Trainer accreditation.

Please Note: By booking on a session, you agree for Museum Development North to share your booking information with your area Museum Development provider.
