Transforming Collections is a series of online sessions designed to help museums to think about how they can explore, question, and review collections and collections information collaboratively to build more inclusive collections development practices.

This session will explore how museums can create meaningful accessible and digital content for engaging audiences with collections.

Agenda:

10.00: Welcome and introductions

10.10: Geoff Belknap, Keeper of Science and Technology, National Museums Scotland, Communities and Crowds project

10.40: 20 minute breakout room discussion: how are you or might your museum approach digital engagement?

11.00: 10 minute break

11.10: Sarah Brown, Deputy Director, Collections Trust, Spectrum Rights Management procedure

11.40: Q&A

11.55: Closing Statements and Follow-up

Before the session it would be helpful if you could think about how and why you do, or might do, activities in your museum.  This may include how you:

  • Broaden access to collections
  • Enhance community connections
  • Develop digital strategies
  • Analyse data and evaluate the impact of digital engagement to inform future strategies.

Details of future sessions and topics in this programme can be found here.
