Elevenses, Tuesday 22 July, Museum Learning and AI

Join GEM, the Group for Education in Museums and Jonathan Munro, Digital Learning Officer, Leeds Museums and Galleries, to discuss the potential uses of AI in museum learning. Shannen Johnson, GEM’s Engagement Manager will provide an introduction to the growth of AI being used in museums. Jonathan will share some of what they’ve been developing at Leeds, covering both the practical work they’re undertaking with MyLearning and some of the wider considerations around applying AI tools in educational and heritage contexts. The session will then open up to a discussion about the possible challenges, ethical considerations and benefits of using AI in museum learning.
Insightful, interactive and informal, come along to gain new insights from our guests, meet colleagues from the region, and connect with the MDN team. Everyone who works and volunteers in museums is most welcome, including museum freelancers who want to stay connected.
