WIGAN Museum – Freelance Project Manager

Wigan Museum is inviting tenders for a freelance Project Manager for the period May 2025 – October 2025. The role will be responsible for managing the development of a £250,000 funding application, working alongside the museum team to reimagine the public offer at Wigan Museum to be delivered in 2026 – 2027.

The Museum is seeking a freelance project manager to lead on the development of a fully costed, designed and consulted funding application for up to £250,000 that takes the learnings from
the ACE Funded What’s in Store project to inform a reimagined public offer at Wigan Museum in 2026/27. The role will provide the following:
• Analysis and interpretation of the community feedback and consultation material
from What’s in Store and working with the museum team to devise a new vision for
the museum offer. (May-July).
• Recruitment and management of an exhibition designer to translate the vision into
a costed design concept (July-Aug).
• Preparation and submission of a National Lottery Heritage application (July-September).
• Development of an alternative, fully costed exhibition and events programme to be
delivered should the NLHF application be unsuccessful (October)
