New Marketing & PR Network for MD North Museums

Do you look after marketing or PR in your museum; perhaps as a team of one?
We know that many people across the North have responsibility for promoting their museums, often alongside other roles. In response to requests from the sector, we’re exploring the creation of a Marketing & PR Network to bring together staff and volunteers who lead on communications, audience engagement and promotion.
The network would offer a supportive space to share ideas, build confidence and develop practical skills. It could include:
- Regular online or in-person meetups to share experiences and updates
- Guest speakers and short training sessions on topics such as digital marketing, branding, or media engagement
- Case studies and examples from museums across the region
- Opportunities for collaboration, mentoring and peer support
We’re starting by gathering views from across the region to help shape what this network could look like, what people would find most useful, how often it should meet, and which topics to focus on first.
If you have responsibility for marketing and PR in your museum, whether as a staff member or volunteer, we’d love to hear from you.
Please take this short survey by 15 November to register your interest and tell us what you’d like from a Marketing & PR network.
