Brew Up! Industrial Collections Network: Bradford Industrial Museum

Brew Up! brings together people who work with industrial collections in the North of England to explore a range of issues when caring for, and working with, these diverse collections. Throughout the day colleagues across the region will share their learning and there will be plenty of opportunities to network.
This session at Bradford Industrial Museum will focus on learning and skills. For more information on the venue visit here.
Anyone working with industrial collections will understand the need to both keep and develop the skills of people working with these collections. The day will explore how various museums across the North are using the skills of their teams to develop the visitor offer and create new business models. It is also important to use these collections to inform and enthuse the next generation, so the day will look at some of the ways museums are creating accessible learning opportunities.
There will be an opportunity to visit the Woven Through Time special exhibition, see the working machinery in action, and a delicious, complimentary lunch is provided.
Speakers include:
- Lancashire County Council Museum Service, Sharing learning from a trip to the Netherland’s Textile Museum
- Bradford District Museums & Galleries, The Challenges of Maintaining Working Machinery
- Ironbridge Gorge Museum Trust, Supporting Industrial Heritage Sites in England
- Calderdale Industrial Museum, Commercial Partnerships and Skills Preservation
Details of further speakers will be added soon.
If you would like to speak at this session on an aspect of learning and skills within an industrial museum setting, then please contact Sue Hughes sue.hughes@museumdevelopmentnorth.org.uk
