GMAST – Paid opportunities for culture sector workers in Greater Manchester

Manchester Museum is a member of GMAST, a network of over 60 members from the arts and culture sector across Greater Manchester working to address the climate crisis. They meet quarterly and share opportunities in a regular email bulletin.
The network has been self-led by its members since it started in 2011. Earlier this year they received some exciting news of a successful funding bid to help develop the network in a couple of different ways:
- *Become formally registered as a co-operative, owned and controlled by its members
- *Plan and host a regional gathering in 2026
- *Support 5 part-time roles to help shape the future of GMAST
Recruitment is now underway for the 5 roles. They are part time and flexible and are aimed at people already working within the culture sector / within GMAST member organisations – either as an employee or as a freelancer, at any stage of their career. These roles will run from approx. November 2025 to April 2026 and are the equivalent of 1 day per week.
They have offered the Top Floor as a hub for the project team to come together and / or use desk space (as required).
Further information about the roles can be found in the Dropbox folder here
There will also be a drop in session on 22 October 22 at 1pm on Zoom hosted by the convenor of the GMAST network, Simon Curtis.
