The Exhibitions Group – Seeking Case Studies

The Exhibitions Group (TEG) are giving people the opportunity to provide case studies or update topics in the Exhibition Makers Toolkit. For anyone whose organisation is not able to support them to do this work within their work time, there is a very modest budget for external case study commissions and chapter updates.
Case Studies
The case studies are used to demonstrate or illustrate a process or approach to exhibition making or touring. Case studies can be submitted in written, audio or video format. Templates and technical support can be provided to facilitate the chosen format. The case studies are short and focussed (500 – 750 words, written or spoken). There can be more than one case study per topic.
These are the topics TEG are seeking new case studies on:
- Accessible exhibition making
- Sustainable exhibition making
- Using carbon calculators and other tools to inform planning, decision making and reporting
- Collaborations and partnerships
- Community engagement
- Virtual couriers
- Exhibition design and display (one on a temporary exhibition and one on a touring exhibition)
- Display cases (one on a temporary exhibition and one on a touring exhibition)
- Evaluation
- Funding
- Museums and Galleries Exhibition Tax Relief (MGETR)
- Hiring an exhibition
- Interpretation
- Use of digital and AV
- Touring an exhibition in the UK
As TEG are expanding the scope of the Exhibition Makers’ Toolkit, there may be topics sector colleagues want to write case studies on that are not listed here. They are very open to proposals for case studies that can be published in the Exhibition Makers Toolkit and/or use in online training.
TEG is also seeking contributions of:
- template Loan Agreements that can be shared with members as a resource.
- recent examples of tour packs
