Silk Museum Macclesfield – Project Manager Freelance Contract

The Silk Museum is embarking on a major project to connect local communities with our collections in both Paradise Mill and the Museum.  The project is funded through an Arts Council England’s Unlocking Collections grant.  This 10-month project seeks to work with diverse communities to co-create, test and trial new interpretation and engagement activities, to bring our collections to life through the images and voices of local people.

They are looking for an experienced, dynamic arts & heritage professional, with a passion for social / industrial history, who will bring new perspectives and make permanent change to their work. You will have proven experience in successfully and effectively:

  • co-curating projects with museum collections and communities
  • leading engagement projects with target audiences
  • organising events and activities programmes
  • commissioning interpretation
  • undertaking project evaluation
  • managing project budgets
  • communicating with team members and participants
  • ensuring project goals are delivered on time and on budget
