Rotherham Museums, Arts & Heritage Service – Art Commission

Rotherham Museums, Arts & Heritage Service would like to commission an artist to create a new temporary artwork for the Waterloo Kiln which will be restored during the summer and re-open in the autumn.

The commission will form a celebration to mark the re-opening following restoration work and focus on the story of the history of this much-loved historical monument and the surrounding landscape.
The final piece will be installed during half-term in October 2024.

We would like to commission an artist to develop a creative and playful installation for the Waterloo Kiln and the Pottery Ponds site to be developed for local families and installed during October half-term. The installation will explore the story/stories of the building and wider landscape to increase engagement with the site and connect with our key target audience “intergeneration families”.

Value of commission – £6.5k
