Carbon Literacy for Museums: Trainer Support Sessions

Do you want to develop your skills to roll out Carbon Literacy training in your museum or network?

Museum Development North will be delivering Carbon Literacy for Museums: Trainer Support Sessions to support people working in and with museums to feel confident to develop their plans to roll out training using the Carbon Literacy for Museums Toolkit, made possible through the Roots & Branches project.

Who are the sessions aimed at?
The session is designed to support people who have already undertaken Carbon Literacy to roll out training using the Carbon Literacy for Museums Toolkit. Upcoming dates and registration links can be found below. The same 2-hour session repeats throughout the year, you only need to attend one session.

The sessions are for staff, volunteers and freelancers who work across all service areas from Accredited Museums or those Working Towards Accreditation in England. We advise that, where possible, two people from your organisation attend a session to support the development of your training ambitions, and so you have a ‘buddy’ to co-facilitate future training for your peers. Priority of course places will be given to non-national museums.

Is it right for me?
It is recommended that you have completed Carbon Literacy training prior to attending a session.

The session will be delivered online and includes presentations, collaborative working exercises, and group discussion, and includes a short break. A computer or tablet is recommended. It will cover aspects of the course content, materials and delivery mechanisms, as well as trainer scenarios and opportunity for questions.

Sessions are delivered by Museum Development North’s Museum Development Officer: Environmental Responsibility.

The session will repeat throughout 2024-2026.

Sessions listings can be found here and will be updated as new dates are announced.
