Elevenses, Thursday 18 April, Introduction to Digital Preservation
This online session is aimed at colleagues who have born-digital assets in their collections but are unsure of what steps to take or where to start. In introducing digital preservation we will focus on what it is, why it matters and how to talk about it with your peers and your managers. It is led by Archives Consultant Simon Wilson.
Simon is leading Danum Digital: Getting Doncaster’s digital records on track, a project funded by The National Archives Resilience Grant. As well as supporting colleagues in Doncaster a key element of the project is to engage with museum colleagues across Yorkshire. This session will also give you an overview of the project.
Simon will be running a follow-up session on Practical First Steps with Digital Preservation on 30 May.
Insightful, interactive and informal, come along to gain new insights from our guests, meet colleagues from the region, and connect with the MDN team. Everyone who works and volunteers in museums is most welcome, including museum freelancers who want to stay connected.
