Brew Up Industrial Collections Network

Brew Up! brings together people who work with industrial collections in the North of England to explore a range of issues when caring for, and working with, these diverse collections. Throughout the day colleagues across the region will share their learning and there will be plenty of opportunities to network.
This session at the Sunday School, part of the wider Locomotion site will focus on ‘Commemorative Events’. The day will explore how various museums with industrial collections across the North are commemorating key events and anniversaries and the opportunities and challenges they face.
For more information on the main Locomotion venue visit here.
There will be an opportunity to take a tour around the exterior of the heritage buildings, and a delicious, complimentary lunch is provided.
Speakers and agenda will be shared soon.
Catering: As part of MD North’s commitment to environmental responsibility and carbon reduction, catering for our in-person events is vegetarian and vegan. We encourage you to bring a reusable hot drink cup and water bottle, and perhaps a Tupperware to take home any leftovers to minimise food waste.
Access: This event will take place in the Sunday School building on Soho Street, Shildon, DL4 1PG
There is free parking in the museum car park over the road from the Sunday School, and also plenty of on street parking.
Wheelchair-accessible toilet facilities equipped with hand-rails and emergency cords are available in the Sunday School. For more information go to Locomotion’s website.
Booking: Please only book if you are committed to attending, so that we give everyone a timely opportunity to book and remove the added paperwork required in dealing with cancellations. If for some reason you can no longer attend, please let us know asap so we can reallocate your place. To allow more museums to attend, we ask that only two people from each museum attend.
